Diesel Invites Wannabe Filmmakers To The Set Of New Fast & The Furious
->
Action man Vin Diesel turned the dreams of Dominican Republic wannabe film makers into reality on the set of the new Fast & The Furious sequel by inviting them to take part in shooting parts of the film!
Diesel and the nation’s President, Leonel Fernandez, set up a film school in Santa Domingo three years ago - and so when director Justin Lin was scouting for locations, the film star insisted he look there.
And once producers agreed to shoot the film in the Dominican Republic, Diesel started finding his film students jobs on set.
He explains, “We take inner city kids and put them through a six-week course in film making.
“We were able to take some of the students and have them work on this major film. It was incredible.”
Diesel is returning to a lead role in the Fast & The Furious film franchise as Dominic Toretto after sitting out the first sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and making an uncredited appearance right at the end in third movie Tokyo Drift.
The new movie is set to be on screen 12 June 2009 (UK)
